For the past two days I have spent most of my time working on a project for the creative side of the marketing team. My assignment was to go to 5 stores and photograph all of Hoover's competing units and the POP's on the units (Point of Purchase, any sticker or decal that makes a claim about the product, example: sticker that reads "NEVER LOSES SUCTION!) I spent Wednesday sitting in on a few meetings in the morning, and then spent the whole afternoon doing "store walks", as the marketing team calls them. On Thursday, when I wasn't observing meetings, I spent the day cropping and arranging the pictures by store, then by type of product (upright, wet vac, canister, etc), then by competing company. Today I will finish the project by printing the pictures and assembling them in a book, so that the creative team will have a reference book when creating POPs for new and existing products.
Another exciting event of my Thursday, was modeling for a picture that will be on the side of vacuum cleaner boxes. So if you see a Hoover vacuum box with a picture of dark jeans and gray shoes standing by a vacuum cleaner, those might be my legs and feet!
Wow Meggie that sounds like a very productive day but also fun. I will have to look out when I pass through the vacuum cleaner section of a store now and look for your legs and feet on the Hoover box!
