Although I can move today, yesterday my shoulders and whole body hurt from this class called Urban
Iron Anna and I took on Tuesday.
This class was so intense that I could barley lift my arms above my head, I
didn’t know I even had some of these muscles that are killing me. This class involved doing a lot of different
sequences, some with hand weights and others with the free-weights. Anna and I actually almost forgot to put
the clamps on to hold the weights on the barbell (which would have been really
bad) because we didn’t really know that they were necessary, which they
definitely were. After swimming and
doing dry land work for so long, I did not expect to be in so much pain. Tuesday we also did Thai Chi class,
which honestly I thought would be a lot more fun than it was. Part of the problem was that the
schedule at the JCC did not say that this class was for seniors so it was not
really what Thai Chi was like. This class was more just for meditation purposes than
actually learning how to do Thai Chi, which was somewhat disappointing. However, the one part of the class that
I enjoyed was the balance aspect.
I have relatively bad balance so this class helped with that. We also had our first interview today, which
went well and gave us a lot of necessary information to actually start laying stuff
out and writing for the booklet, which we have already somewhat begun to plan.
